About
John Cremer is a speaker, trainer and improviser. He has spent over 20 years studying the principles behind Reading People and refining his methods by working with a huge range of clients.
Initially intrigued with the practical applications, he has since researched the fascinating historical roots of this unique system. John finds these new connections and deeper insights enrich his personal and professional life
every day.
His journey in personal development began in Phoenix Arizona in 1985 with Omega Vector, an organisation that offered intensive awareness trainings.
John worked as a trainer in the organisation and went on to work with groups devoted to exploring human potential. He joined the Oxymorons Improvisation Troupe, directing and performing in hundreds of shows under the guidance of the legendary Louis Anthony Russo. John was invited to perform with Essential Theatre Playback Company, which gave totally improvised plays based on stories from audience members.
Returning to the UK in 2001 John founded the Maydays award-winning improvisation troupe and performs with them regularly. The Maydays give public shows of hilarious Whose Line is it Anyway? style improvisation and are renowned for their totally improvised musicals. They create bespoke shows and trainings for companies and organisations. Every troupe member gets to know their own type and that of their colleagues as a way of heightening their performance skill level. They work with a diverse range of clients including Legal and General, the British Council, Friends of the Earth and won Best Comedy Show Brighton Festival Fringe 2007.

“The Maydays' performance was the highlight of our 2008 clergy conference - hilarious, clever and pitched perfectly for the audience. They enthralled us by turning our suggestions and comments into comic turns and songs. The laughter never stopped and it was all totally appropriate - slightly cheeky but never offensive. They got the audience on their side from the start, and the mood of happiness and delight lingered long after they'd left the stage.”
– The Rt Revd Graham James, Bishop of Norwich
John is a member of the Professional Speakers Association and gives keynote talks and improvisation skills training to companies and organisations such as: T-Mobile, Deloitte, Microsoft, Airbus, Vistage and was awarded Star Speaker 2007 by the Academy for Chief Executives.
When he is not speaking, training, writing, researching or performing he can often be spotted, rod in hand, stalking the elusive sea trout and bass from Brighton beach.
